During the day the best choice is to have a lunch on the beach. The options are many, there are "barracas de praia" of all levels. The "barracas de praia" are basically a cross between a bathouse and a beach restaurant, where you can choose a lot of dishes and drinks. Sea food is the master, from lobsters caught in the region, prawns, crabs and oysters. They have also great fish dishes. Equally succulent meat dishes are the Picanha, the cut of beef considered nobler in South America, virtually unobtainable in Europe and the Filè Mignon.

In the evening, the restaurants are almost all located in the city's main promenade. You can choose between a snack, like a hamburger or a "pastel" (fried dough stuffed), or a gourmet dinner. International cuisine reigns supreme, with Italian restaurants, Spanish, Cuban, Argentine and Japanese, together with a wide variety of brasilians restaurants, where you can taste, for example, the unmissable feijoada brasileira. Prices may vary a lot, you can make a complete meal with less than 10 euros, or spend much more by opting for a dinner of lobster and white French wine in the candlelight.
